Despite the intensity of the sun, many residents of Key Biscayne run in efforts to stay fit.
I always thought that wealthy neighborhoods were lonely and quiet. Key Biscayne, however, proved me wrong. I noticed that people roam the streets enjoying the scenery of their community.
This park in Key Biscayne is always teeming with people. Families go to spend time with each other. Teens go to play sports or watch others play sports. And joggers go to run the field.
My little sister paused from her bike-riding to admire the fountain or maybe she was making a wish.
Residents of Key Biscayne have stable and well-paying professions (which is why they can afford living on the island). Many of them own golf carts to drive around the community.
In trying to capture the essence of Key Biscayne, I approached a fellow pedestrian and asked him what he liked most about the community. He said to me that he was vice mayor of Key Biscayne and explained that he loves the livelihood of the people in the village. Soon after, a man riding a bike shouted “Hey Frank!” and Frank waved to his friend, smiling.
A few blocks later, I approach this man for no particular reason. I ask him a few questions about the community but as he spoke, he began to look familiar. I asked him about his profession and he said that he is an actor for telenovelas.
These condos are at walking distance from a private beach—a beach bum’s dream.
The scorching sun finally hid behind the clouds, giving us a moment to enjoy the breezy winds from the sea shore.
A snippet of life always has so much going on at once.
I saw a moment unravel before me when a little girl ran into the arms of the condo’s security guard, a man loved by many. I grabbed the camera and captured this.
A fleeting moment of joy.
It’s been so long since I’ve done street photography! Ah, it feels so great to finally have a fresh collection of work that I can admire and share with the world. I hope you guys enjoy these new set of photographs :))
