We went to this popular place in Buga where people go to fish from a lake, splash in the pool, or cool off in a river nearby. Weaving around the mountains was the only way to get there. As soon as the sky-scraping monstrosities came into view, I was hushed in mid-sentence. Mother nature demanded my attention.
My eyes tried to take it all in (which is why I didn’t take pictures–I couldn’t pry them away).
It’s nice to get away from the city and get up close and personal with nature. It really humbles you to see the simplicity of our world without towering buildings, the sound of traffic, and, most of all, the suffocation of pollution.
My awesome uncle.
Part of my family decided to fish.
I like climbing trees. Do you?
I got a bird’s eye view of my uncle’s wife from the tree I climbed.
I like to climb trees.
Wanderlust is my middle name.
Cooling in the river is better than going to the pool or beach. You really do feel like one with nature.
We went to a place where people can fish, go to the pool, or waddle into the river a few feet away.
I don’t know why, but horses were roaming around the area.

The pool is actually filled with water straight from the river. There is no chlorine in it.
We went out to eat that night.

We all ordered this: a steak accompanied by potato, yuca, and maduro.
My mother and I. Don’t we look alike?
